Stop Motion of making a polymer clay cane

I took a class called "Performance in Society" this semester.  One of our assignments was to create a performance based on a secular ritual.  I love the ritual of creating, and so I made a polymer clay bead, from clay in the wrapper to the final smoothing before the bead would be baked.  This is the stop motion I made in the wee early hours of the morning (I am a master of procrastination!)  for our final portfolio presentation.  I did not have time to get to the making a bead part, but I hope you enjoy this little glimpse of how I create.

New Journals!

My online shops have been on hiatus while I do local holiday craft shows and try to survive another semester of school as a Theatre Major/Dance Minor.

But thanks to Thanksgiving break (and a rather HUGE snowstorm which meant I did not get to go to the out-or-town craft show I was planning on =( ) I have gotten my shop back up and running, and am listing new notebooks and journals!

Ghosts and Goblins, oh my!

School will be starting soon, and that means my favorite holiday is just around the corner!  I was looking around at ArtFire, and put together this collection of TREATS that would make fabulous handmade gifts for someone who shares my love of all things spooky!

Let the Sunshine In!

Artfire has released their "Collections"

So I had to make a polymer clay one, of course - in Sunshine-y colors!

Reminder

These are the things that make me happy!
Wouldn't think I needed a reminder, would you?
But if I'm grumpy, I probably have done none of these things.

Off to dance!

Big Dance, Little Space - Callous Physical Theatre

Ahhh..I'm off for the rest of the week to ACDFA.  Four days of taking classes, watching dance, and performing in the informal concert on the final day.  I need this so very badly.

It's always nice to be reminded of WHY we do the things we do - why do we go to class, and work hard, even when we're tired, and sore.  Conferences such as this are an excellent opportunity to "fill the well" as Julia Cameron of "The Artist's Way" would put it.

Hair Pretties!

I got a new flower loom (I am pretty much a sucker for looms of all types) and so I made these flower hair clips.  So pretty!  Now I need to figure out how to make them with a polymer clay button for the center, don't you think?  They are listed in my Artfire shop HERE.

Such a cute little snail...

This sweet little snail has a handmade polymer clay button for a shell.  I have been discovering a love for embroidery - I enjoy it as long as I don't have to follow a pattern!

I'm experimenting with the new Facebook Payvment storefront, so if this little guy needs to come home with you he can be found here
